Aaron Warren is a rock & roll editor with an eye for narrative, an ear for dialogue, and a taste for punchy film making.
In addition to editorial work, Aaron is a member of legendary electronic blues band Black Dice and has toured the world for close to 20 years. He brings a unique punk aesthetic to each project as well as a hardy DIY work ethic.
Working alongside Grammy & Emmy award-winning director/editor Thom Zimny, Aaron learned the craft of feature documentary storytelling on many Bruce Springsteen-related films including “The Promise: The Making of Darkness on the Edge of Town”. As an assistant editor on Michael Moore’s influential health-care documentary, “Sicko," he gained an appreciation for the rigorous editorial approach to narrative non-fiction. Aaron continues his work in docs with celebrated directors Ricki Stern & Annie Sundberg, and Academy Award-winner Morgan Neville.
Whether in documentary series for CNN or PBS, or verite-styled reality shows from Discovery to Tru TV, Aaron synthesizes his doc training and rhythmic sensibility with an affinity for emotionally true stories. Editing music and performance is a natural passion, and he has worked with artists as diverse as Animal Collective, Tony Bennett, Frank Morgan, !!!, The Low Anthem, and Pat Monahan.
After living and working in New York City for 16 years, he now resides in the Eagle Rock neighborhood of Los Angeles with his wife and two daughters.
